I've been thinking of getting a shorter stem for my Kona, current one is 90mm and was looking at a 60mm one. My last bike was also 90mm so i've not got anything for comparison and was wondering how much difference it makes. I ride trail centres, local woods and cycle paths mostly. Thanks.

30mm is a big change, I changed from 100mm to 80mm and the effect was very noticeable, I'd suggest getting some cheap used ones to try and sorting the length you want before buying a decent one.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

As long as you are confident it wont get too short, go for the 60mm I say.
