Can you recommend one for me?
Don't need anything fancy, but it needs to be functional and able to fold up and be easily stowed in the hall cupboard.

You may even find the same stand for less under other brands names. It's not shop quality, but more than sufficient for home use.0 -

Wouldn't want to push against the bike on that one.All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Exactly that, I'd imagine0

The lidl ones are superb but go like hot cakes0

What's your budget? I went the cheap stand route before with one of those Revolution's (from another brand) and it didn't stand up to my use at home but I probably used it more than most do. The handle cracked after while, it's not that stable, the head is very flexy when you're cranking down on the bike, the angle adjustment can slip as well (the plastic teeth deform), the legs were stiff to fold up so couldn't just flip the lever and push and when the bike is unbalanced, like when one wheel is off, the stand is very easy to knock over. It's also lost the bolts that hold everything together securely so it rattles a lot but that's partly my fault for losing the bolts. It's now just used for fork servicing and bike washing for which it does the job fairly well.
It is far better than having no stand but if you can afford a more expensive one I would recommend you do. I just got a Feedback Sports Pro Elite for £160 and the difference is night and day. Much more stable, the quick releases are easy to use (they had to be done up really tight on the cheap stand), the quick release clamp is really nice and the legs actually fold up without any issues.0 -

With no feet sticking out the back it's more likely to fall in that direction if you push it that way.All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

This looks just like the Lidl stand I have had for a few months and so far I have found nothing wrong with that.0 -
I wish I saw this thread yesterday. I bought one for £72 It was the Park Tool stand.
GoOutdoors sell it for £89.99 and they say they will match any price and then take 10% off as well if they're beaten on price. ChainReaction sell it for £79.99 so I emailed GoOutdoors and managed to get it for £72, it looks well built and can't grumble.0 -
@AndyPatio - which Park Tools stand was that? I've looked at a few now after posting this.0

Lidl stand has been worth it just for the ease of gear setting, but can work it's way loose under pressure. Could be modified pretty easily if you're handy, but for £30 you just cannot go wrong !0

And how is the quality Andy?0

Can't fault it. Put my Carrera Vulcan on the stand and it doesn't even budge. It feels very safe and sturdy. The height adjustment is great as well. I would recommend it.0

Good thread this. I am considering a workstand too. Nice spot on the Go Outdoors 10% discount via price match. Winstanleys seem to have the cheapest price around at £75. £7.50 off that would make the PCS-9 £67.50.
The below stand from http://bdbikes.co.uk (the seller of the cheap one on Ebay mentioned earlier) also seems like it might be worth a shout at £36?

I reckon the below could be another option in the same price range as the Revolution and Park Tool:

Seems to fold up pretty compactly.0 -
Well I just ordered the Park Stand from Evans - they price matched the Winstanley price. I live right next to Evans so I will collect it next week.
I'll report back once it has had a few uses.0 -
I bought one of these from Black Dog a few weeks ago. £36. Arrived pretty much next day. Stand is pretty stable and good quality for the price. See http://bdbikes.co.uk/index.php?route=pr ... ct_id=42060

Hi guys,
Looking at getting a work stand for the garage - ideally would like one of the wall mounted one.
Have seen these on Amazon:
Wall Mounted Repair Stand
Lock & Tilt Wall Mounted Bicycle Repair Stand - Bicycle Maintenance Stand - 360* Swivel
Anyone got one or have any thoughts?

Got one of these myself and is a good bit of kit for the money, legs fold up so takes up hardly any space when not in use. Also available on ebay for the same price, although not sure if you will get the 3 year warranty like you do from Aldi/Lidl.0 -
Aldi have their bike sale this Sunday 29june and those repair stands are going for £30, I know I
L be getting one this Sunday.'I'll trek two please....!
To HT or not to HT is the question...0
