Saw this on Pinkbike, it actually looks really nice! Unlike the last two downhill frames they've produced...0

I'll give it two weeks, will have snapped ;-)0

The last one rode great but was guaranteed to crack.
Doesn't matter what the new one looks like if it's not strong enough.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

seeing what they're last (current/all) bikes looked like, yeah - that's a massive improvement."Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

But it's kind of dumb because the bigger wheeled ones are generally geared towards the more pedally courses such as the world champs one, where many riders were riding dropper posts, but with a seat angle like that good luck with a dropper post...0

There are very few tracks where you would ever want a dropper post on a dh bike.
The pedally tracks that they used for the firsr two world cup rounds were so unpopular with riders, teams and fans I'm not too sure they will be used again.
A slack seat tube angle helps keep the wheel base reasonable while giving clearance for 200mm of rear suspension.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

It looks like looking at a reflection of a bike in a hall of mirrors.0

dat seat tube angle.....0

What is wrong with the seat tube angle? It achieves what it needs to. It puts the saddle in the right place while allowing a reasonable wheelbase.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

No, it looks like he didn't want the rear tyre to hit the seat tube at full travel.
DH bikes are often have slack seat tubes for that reason but bigger wheels exaggerate it.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
The effective seat angle is much, much steeper.0
