It seems Vinny received a letter from Astana asking him why he's rubbish this year....
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

It seems a fair question. Then again most recent GT winners have been crap the next season - Wiggins, Nibali, Evans, Cobo, Horner....

To be fair to Horner, he was run over by a Range Rover.

I was thinking about that - has Cookson got it back from the garage yet?

Nibali should go and ride the Col de la Madone.

Call me a cynic, but I suspect he will be ok come the start of Le Tour.

Isn't that his optimal way of reaching form? It was last year.

this seems an odd way to communicate with a rider. is he not surrounded by his team and coaches - or is he off on his own with his dad?

Nibali comments. I can understand the comments from Vino a little given he is on 4mill a year however it is certainly too early to talk.

A bit unfair, if Nibali is targeting the tour surely his season will peak around then? You can't win everything all the time.

“In late March, after a Spring racing campaign that provided fewer successful results than expected, I sent an email to all riders and staff at Astana Pro Team to motivate and encourage everyone not to lose hope, and to continue training at the highest level,” said Vinkourov.

13 seconds off the pace of Froome yesterday doesnt look too shabby.

Fair to say he's not been sat on his crack for a few months and is likely to be on the podium in France

Yeah yesterday was okay. I would have thought he'd be a bit closer on that particular course, but it's still only seconds. I certainly hope he's on track.
