Chainset for GT Aggressor XC3 2009

Ive not long bought a Gt Aggressor XC3 2009 very cheap but I need a new chainset for it , Ive bought a Sram Chain & cassette but looking on the net for a chain set is a mine field :shock:
It has at present a Suntour XCCT 202 chainset with sealed Bearing BB, but what can I change it too ? I would like either a Sram or Truativ but would mine a Shimano, I don't what to spend out much (£40/50 inc BB) as the bike will be a quick down the shops or leave chained up at work. I will change the Bottom bracket too if need be but Im not sure what I need or what will fit ?
