So... will he be selected for the Tour?

“People keep putting it up on twitter and everybody keeps saying it,” says Bennett.

“I know I’m getting up in sprints but it’s different riding a stage race like that. It’s a different level.

“The guys are so much stronger. I’m sprinting fairly well but I still have to work on getting a big engine to do a race like that.”
“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!

Be great if he was selected. Seems to be on the longlist, but not off to the Dauphine...

There's no doubt, is there? Having a terrific year, and they don't have anyone else for the sprints. I can't imagine they'll bring 8 riders to help Konig. Thwaites I think will be on the outside.

He's stepped up really well. The team also look better in lead out terms than last year. The management have also been strategic in that the have put him in quite a few races with predominantly 3rd level sprinters. Where he has struggled according to the website is putting several days of racing together and that's at a lot lower level than the Tour. Maybe no surprise as he has already done more racing at .1 and above than he did the whole of last season, plus presumably additional training. The issue for me will be how long he will last and whether it will do him any good in the longer term. He clearly has the ability to ride at this level, but not convinced its this year. His statement: “The guys are so much stronger. I’m sprinting fairly well but I still have to work on getting a big engine to do a race like that.” is very honest and sums it up for me. Plus he will be sprinting against the best
Can't see Thwaites getting a ride (albeit he would generate more media coverage for sponsors than the rest of the team put together) unless there are injuries to some of the favourites. That's not because he isn't good enough, but they never give him a chance to prove himself, even when they stick him in a decent race. Hope he can move on next season.
