Whinlatter or Grizedale ?

Myself and my brother are going to the lakes in early July and were going to hire bikes when up there (can't transport ours). Never been before, just wanting opinions on which would be the better location Whinlatter or Grizedale? Cheers in advance

    I should add that we are not seasoned downhill riders! Enthusiastic amateurs is how I would describe us, although Sherwood Pines is less than a mile away from home and we ride the Red Kitchener route on a weekly basis and find it quite easy.

    Whinlatter of you're gonna stick to the way marked trails, Grizedale if you want to explore a bit more. The bridleways round the forest make for some brilliant riding, but can be quite technical.
