Whilst looking for a bike for my mate online I stumbled across Radon bikes the in house exclusive brand from bikediscount.de. I have to say they look like absolutely amazing value for money with good geometry to boot!

Just check this out ......http://www.radon-bikes.de/xist4c/web/Sl ... 26247_.htm

at 3300 euros that equates to about £2700 that's pretty damn good.

What are other peoples thoughts on them and has anyone seen or ridden on??

They look good, but a little dated to me. Geometry looks a little steep, long stems etc. A lot of Euro brands seem to go for this, I've no idea why.

Ive seen a couple of Radons and they seem well made. The geo often leaves a little to be desired though, and as with most German bikes they are quite short sometimes.

As expected, the geometry is more suitable to the more XC biased riding common on big chunks of the continent, even the longer travel bikes keep that geo and seem to have a habit of blowing through their travel, guess it's the way the punters want them!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • I've never seen one in the flesh. I wouldn't want to order something that I couldn't get a ride on.
(Canyons are that popular now, that you can find someone that will allow you to throw a leg over the bike to get a feel for the bike.)

2012 Cube Ltd SL (the hardtail XC 26er)

  • I actually rode with a guy yesterday who had one, looked nice. Had Pikes, XO groupset, reverb stealth etc. for the money its great, but its not all about value for money.
  • to be honest I don't see to much of a problem with the geometry?? Except possibly the standover height. Personally I like riding shorter bikes just as much as I like longer bikes, They are still fun just in a different way.
