What bike stand?

My trusty but cheap Decathlon stand has sheared just above the legs while tightening up the bottom bracket. It lasted about 2 years and cost around £30. In hindsight because the bike rested on top it always got soaked during bike washing and water collected in the crevices which probably weakened it over the years.

So I'm in the market for a replacement. I mainly wash my bike in the stand, remove both wheels, clean the chain, crank and bottom bracket to keep on top of the various creaking etc.

I'm willing to push the boat out and spend around £70. Ideally something that folds down to around 1 metre long with no sticky out bits to facilitate easy storage in the shed.

Recommend away!

I recommend you don't keep it in the shed! Everyone knows they live in a warm dry wardrobe :D

I use one of these, don't know if this is the best price, everyone sells them, never had a problem with mine, does the job, no sticky out bits to catch on your hanging clothes...

As many on BR can testify, the AlDI/LIDL £30 jobs are excellent.

Or the Edinburgh bike one is good too. Actually it's probably the same as that one on Merlin, but 3 quid cheaper.

I've just bought this for my Son-in-law, I do most of his mechanics, but for £27.99 posted it doesn't look bad and he'll only use it for washing his bike and lubing his chain: -
