Coaster Brakes

I'm in the market for a new rear wheel for my single speed and it occurred to me that i could get a wheel built up with a coaster brake to compliment my totally crap in the wet/dry front brake.
I see SRAM also have a range that includes a 2 speed automatic + brake or a 3 speed manual with a twist shifter + brake, not sure how that would work considering I use drop bars.
Does anyone know if this would work with horizontal dropouts?
Has any one used such a device on a single/multi speed track bike?

Horizontal Dropouts should be perfect. Most Dutch Bikes have horizontal dropouts. The only thing I can think of is that it needs something to attach the arm to but that can usually be bodged with a U-clip or similar
Note that they re usually pretty crap and only really suitable for slow speed stuff, especially if you have the pedals at 12/6 o clock and can't get any leverage to push back on themWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Sachs Torpedo. If you can, buy a new old stock one from the 70s; they are built like a brick sh one t house.
From memory, there are a few that have three speed hub gearing as well as the coaster brake.0
