Roadie to single speed?

Got an old Roadie sat doing nowt, is it easy enough convert it to a single speed?
Swap Crank and rear hub?

    Lots of options - how you adjust chain tension is your main concern as this often dictates part choices.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Do you mean single speed or fixed? Fixed is worth doing but single speed a waste of time in my opinion. As above chain tension is the issue - if the rear ends are vertical drop outs then you could have a problem - a half link chain may help. For single speed you may be able to use a chain tensioner.
