Hi,

I'm completely new to road biking, and I was hoping to get some input on a couple of bikes I've been looking at?

I'm getting a bike via a Bike2Work scheme through work, so it has to be from Halfords, I will be using the bike for the commute a few times a week and some weekend rides also. Work is around 12 miles each way if that makes a difference to my purchase choice.

Anyway, there's a couple of links below, bikes I've seen, all quite similar imo, but then again what do I know!?! Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Many Thanks

They'll all work to a greater or lesser extent, and the Virtuoso is the better buy of all 3. It is still a pretty heavy machine though!
You start to get decent road bikes new around the £500 mark- they still have relatively budget components but the frame quality tends to be much better and they are worth upgrading as components wear out.

If you have to buy at Halfords, I would probably look at their Boardman range. They are a lot more pricy, but in the long run is probably a better purchase.
