Thinking of investing in a new build and wanted to put Athena EPS on it.

But I am struggling to see any in stock? Are Campagnolo about to release a new line or something. Normally the Shimano option is a tad cheaper. But I can see one place at £1,400 but the Ultegra is now a £1,000

Before anyone states buy Shimano .......... no. Campagnolo is better:
1. It has a cooler name
2. It definitely, definitely looks nicer
3. I like the button change

I don't like the thumb button, looks agricultural. Each to their own though.

Plenty prefer lawn mower parts, so yes each to their own

Save yourself £200 and get Record...

Oh, and about your question on new releases, Campy have shown their new designs for next year. Whether or not Athena will change is another question.

    Campag chainrings are beautiful.

Campag EPS is something even its mother couldn't love.

The 'Campag is pretty' just doesn't work with EPS.

    Did I mention the buttons?

I believe I read that Athena EPS is to be discontinued because of poor sales.
  • Hi. Ultegra di2 looks awesome in its latest guise and performs admirably, prefer the di2 to mechanical due to the faultless changes and the auto trim. Every one to there own. Just my two pence worth.

Save yourself considerably more and get Chorus manual, its the best bang for buck high end groupset IMHO.

Why do you want to go EPS?

I was playing around with my Di2 at the weekend. I loaded the latest firmware on and changed my button functions so it works like a paddle shift gear change. The front two buttons do the front mech and the rear paddles do the rear mech. Press a button and the mech moves towards that side of the bike. I also changed my 'press and hold' function to jump 3 cogs and set the shift speed to 'fast'. It is so easy to reprogramme.

Can you do that with EPS on a laptop?
