Hi,

We're planning on cycling from London to Paris in 24 hrs in July, hoping to get there to watch the final day of the TdF.

Do give us a chance on making it we're looking for a direct but safe route. We're be cycling through the night France side. We seem to have sorted London to Dover, now need Calais to Paris.

Can anyone help, with the route? Or advise on bits to avoid?

Thanks, Tom

I did it in April this year. Try this route. It was reasonably direct.

The only wrinkle being that I deliberately went via Beauvaix and Pontoise to avoid some previous confusion I'd had getting into Paris when I rode it in 3 days in 2012.

This way used some of my route from 2011 when I'd gone via Dieppe, which may mean you are adding a few miles to the ride but navigating your way through rural France in the dark can be fiddly so certainty was what I was after as soon as I got to Calais.

Write up for the ride here -
