Can someone help with more info on this bike. Cannondale R600
Shimano RX100 crank set - 39/53 teeth
Shimano 105 derailleur, 8 speed 13-23 tooth cassette
Shimano Sora Flight Deck dual control gear shifters and brake levers
Mavic 195 wheelset, Shimano RX100 hubs, Continental Supersport Ultra 700x23C tyres
Shimano RX100 brakes
What year?
Spec?
How much it cost new?
How much its worth now?
weight?
Is it a good first road bike to purchase?
thanks in advance

RX100 was replaced by Sora in 1999/2000 so there's your answer. It probably cost in the region of £1000 new - R600 was in the lower/middle of the range. The 3.0/2.8 frame was notoriously stiff - don't expect a smooth ride. Bike looks to be relatively unused judging by the condition of the paintwork / components and spares are readily available. Price today - £200-250 given the age of the bike.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

It looks in good condition and you can probably resell it for a very similar price if road cycling is not for you.
The only thing I would be careful of is the gearing is very much for speed and if you are new to cycling and live in a hilly area it could be hard work. My bike as a comparison has a 12-30 cassette and a 50/34 compact chainset which gets me up any hill easily.0
