Rockshox XC30 Solid Lock out

I received some new Rockshox XC30's today for my wife's bike and just wondered about the lockout. I was expecting a near on solid lockout but there is a good 10mm of travel when they are locked out.
Can anyone confirm that is correct on this model of fork....The XCM's on my sons bike lock solid and my Raidon's have only about 3mm of play when locked.

This is the way they are designed - to add a little traction when locked out (also protects fork internals)0
