Campagnolo ultrashifting. Not too ultra.

I have 11 speed Chorus, and despite replacing cables and derailleurs to try and weed out any issues, and putting it all on a new frame! The shifting is great but when on the big ring I get up the the second largest sprocket on the back and the shifter just moves without any resistance, like the gear isn't even there.
Is it service time? And if any of you have had a service from the like of velotech et al, would you care to say roughly how much financial damage it causes?
Or is it something you can do yourself?
Thanks,
Lee

Sounds like the ratchet wasn't fully released before you set-up the indexing - try setting the indexing on the 6th sprocket to see how you get on?Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

click all the way down with the thumb lever, undo the cable, pull it tight and do up the bolt. Start changing up the cogs up to about 5 and back down again. Check if the cable has gone very lose. If it has repeat procedure making sure the the thumb lever is clicked all the way down. Now you should be able to go all the way to the top of the cassette albeit a bit ropey. If its struggling to go towards the big cog turn the cable adjuster on the mech away from the wheel one or two clicks at a time until it stops struggling (tighten the cable). Turn the opposite way if its struggling to come down to the small cog (loosen the cable). If this doesnt work the mech hanger might not be straight (bike shop). Also try pushing the mech over towards the large cog with your hand when the cable is undone to check that it moves all the way over to so that the jockey wheels align with the biggest sprocket. (and that it doesnt go too far into the spokes).Pegoretti

Cheers guys.
All set up as it should be, I've had another go setting it up first moving the derailleur slightly inside the last sprocket before tightening the cable and I've got all the gears now. And actually working best they have for quite some time.
It does still loose resistance every now and again. Particularly in my most common gears (3rd-5th sprockets), which suggests they may be a little worn!? The shifters are probably almost five years old and have done a fair bit of mileage ~35-40,000 miles and consequently a lot of changes. I'm going to have them serviced to see if it sorts the problem.
Still having a spot of trouble with the FD changing on a Qring and not rubbing when cross chaining, but with some refinements that'll be fine.Up: Wilier Mortirolo
