Hmmmmm, not sure 'their dream' really stands up to scrutiny. They say that there is currently a 'positive perception of cycling'. Is there? With some of the names attached to this? When there are already teams struggling for sponsorship?
Strong and ambitious indeed.Correlation is not causation.0 -
They wouldn't say otherwise, would they?
There is not a single reference to 'clean cycling' in their listed core values0 -

True that they wouldn't say otherwise. I have to admit I didn't bother reading far enough to get to the core values. My derision-o-meter was flashing red.
I shall enjoy counting how many of these 'Orange' jerseys I see out on the road. Although with the Oranje levels already rising due to some football event coming up, it might be hard to gauge whether or not those wearing them are really in support of this particular project.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Good on them, I think there is a positive perception of cycling, sponsorship isn't a zero sum game so whilst there may be more deserving teams struggling this project doesn't take food from their mouths.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

As it currently stands, it's at most a job application from a bunch of dutch ex-pro's.... not particularly visionary.0

Most of whom would struggle to get a job at another team.Correlation is not causation.0 -

With Belkin and Giant-Shimano both having so many troubles in recent years, what makes them think this will work?
I think they see Sky and Orica and want some of that semi-nationalistic action ... If that concept was to work I'd say merging the 2 Dutch teams would be the better concept.0 -

They have two mostly Dutch teams already in terms of riders/sponsors (I don't really get what they mean by 'Dutch' in this context anyway because OGE and Sky are not solely Australian or British), in Belkin and Giant-Shimano. They had a 'Dutch' team with a 'very' Dutch sponsor in Rabobank until Rabobank pulled out, partly due to the behaviour of some of the people behind this project.
Perhaps they just miss Euskaltel and want to return some orange to the peloton? (CCC Polsat Polkowice aside)Correlation is not causation.0
