Indeed and seeing as I have a crappy old pair of tyres in the shed and I think I'll give it a go, well done T47 :D

Just go the dump/LBS and grab any old pair - it doesn't matter what they are.

Get two pairs and send your burd in after you and get two sets. Any friends as well - stock up on them for the next 10 years. And if they are shyyyyyyt just sell them.

The only glitch in your plan is that you have to take the wheel set to the shop for them to physically fit the tyres for you

Hmmmmm - I presume the shop reserves right to charge for fitting - Conti will just say that they are supplying the tyres, its up to the shop to do whatever else.....

Still, a tenner for new tyres and tubes isn't tooo bad.

  • I went and got my free rubber ... £10 to fit them but given it's something for almost nothing and the tenner goes to the shop I'd say fair enough.

As if by magic it started pee'ing down just before heading back home so I can confirm they work better than Mavic tyres in the wet.

They're a lot heavier than GP400s' but will do the job.

(almost ended in tears though as my white saddle got dyed blue from my damp jeans, luckily it cleaned up fine)

    only 20 sets per outlet...

So each outlet can make up to £400 on this "deal"? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

As an aside, I wonder what the trade price would be for them - maybe less than the £20 they are charging for fitting?
