AM Wagon Wheels?

Was going to sell my 29er, but then rode it for the first time in weeks and realised that I really love that bike. So going to upgrade instead and sell the hard tail. The first thing I want to change are the XC wheels to something more 'All Mountain with more stiffness and strength . They have too much flex in them for my liking and have gone through a few spokes. I know that there will always be flex with wagon wheels but want to minimise it. Looking for something that can handle aggressive trail riding. Not too worried about weight as I am 17 stone. The odd 100 grams doesn't bother me. I have narrowed down my choices to the following.
http://www.dtswiss.com/Wheels/MTB-Wheel ... ine-ONE-29
http://www.dtswiss.com/Wheels/MTB-Wheel ... -Spline-29
http://www.amclassic.com/en/products/mt ... 9-tubeless

I can get the 1501's for around £570, the 1700's for £430 and the American Classics for around £550. Looking for some real world opinions; So if anybody has any experience of these wheels, it would be much appreciated. Is the extra cost over the 1700's worth it for either/both of the other two?
Thanks in advance

Bit leftfield but I'd be getting a set of Lightbicycle carbons, for that price, and putting them on DT240s (which are too expensive new, so I'd buy a wheelset, split it and refurb them). Remains to be seen about longevity on mine but already I can say, if I'd treated an equivalent weight alu wheelset like this it'd be in bits.

Thanks. Never heard of them. Had a quick look. Presume you mean the wide rims? How are they for flex and what spokes did you use? Never considered custom wheels, but could be an option.

The LB rims have a good reputation already, for your usage the wide rims would be most sensible.

A wheel build isn't very expensive, you can even DIY - my wheels I built at home by doing a rim swap (I was lucky as the old and new rims had the same ERD, so no spokes to worry about) - it's then just getting hubs and spokes at the right price which isn't hard but can take some thought.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Mine are 26ers so can't really compare. I've got one of their older "old process" 26er rims on the hardtail, built with 28 Revolutions, as you'd expect it's not the stiffest wheel ever but it still seems stiffer than the alu Traversee rim it replaced.

Got a set of the 33mm enduro rims being built as we speak, probably with Sapim Lasers but I've left a bit of the decision with the shop as, to be honest, he knows better than I do ;) I just said no heavier than supercomps, no weaker than revs, GO ;O)

Thanks for the replies. Have now been offered the American Classic AM's at a bargain price so would be stupid not to go for them. Will consider the LB rims for future upgrade to the Mega.

I'd consider unbuilding the AMCs and rebuilding into Light Bicycle rims, really impressed with mine.
