  • Have a look at DT Comp Race spokes as they are a bit lighter and just as strong.

Bontrager XR4 Team Issue are a decent tyre tubeless and work a bit better than the XR3 in most typical British conditions.

Loooed at the xr4 tyres, they look good! :) will have to see, may just stick with the xr3s for now aa they're not nakard yet, was only looking to change for the sake of it, or ive im gonna get alot more benifit from new tyres!

So first few bits of the change are done, new 142 x 12 axle kit is now fitted, picked up last week, also received my custom graphics from Slik last week too, not got any pictures yet, will upload some later if I remeber, also, next week I shoupd be ordering the rims and hubs, I get to keep the rims but as the hubs are xmas presents im not aloud to have them till xmas! -.-

Which is no worries as I cant afford to have them built yet, nor have I decided where im taking them to be built!!

But it will mean I can get the decals fitted to the rims, I know its daft buying new rims and then taking the original decals off but, I want them to look right, and the red wont match!! So alls falling into place just nice! !

Still not decided if im gonna buy new tyres but dont think I will for now, unless someone can tell me tyres that are leaps and bounds better then the XR3 tyres that i have now.

I'd stick with the XR3's till they're dead, good tyres. Really rate my XR4's which are intended for slightly looser conditions and the more expensive team issue versions really just loose a bit of weight due to their higher tpi rating. I am considering something a little faster rolling for the rear as the 2.35" XR4 is a little draggy at times.

I dont find mine too draggy, but then again im no speed demon, ill have to havr a look around more but ill stick with the XR3's till they are usless as you said, no point spending for no need

So a little more good news! Both hubs are on order, and the rims, hoping for them to be here sometime soon!

Rims and rear hub where ment to be here this morning, but its not looking promising!
Hoping a get a few pics of the hubs on the bike when i get them!

All falling together nicely now! :D
  • I ripped both my botranger tyres. One in the woods, another riding coed y brenin. Never trust them now. Nobby nics all the way.

    Nice trail warrior though.

But this morning ive spent my time sorting the new rims, got them the other day but not had time to get this new Decals from Slik onto them so heres a few pictures, some people might not like them but its my bike :D

That's a lot of work to what was a new bike. I can now see why people buy frames and build them up. Keep the good work flowing and don't stop with the pictures. Strange that you lost the plate, as it looks as though it had blue thread lock on it. Is this a weak production assembly.

    Edit:
Oooops just noticed that you brought this bike back in May.
I'm not a racer, but I like to churn out 2-3hr rides,
I love Cannock and Llandegla cycle parks.
    Cube Acid 2010
Upgraded RockShox Reba RL Forks, twin air.
    Updrade RockShox dropper seat post.
Went tubeless DIY style using a 20" BMX tube. Lasting well.

haha no worrys mate, I wanted to build one but funds where low so opted for full bike on finance to get me going then change and sell what I swap.. looking forward to getting my new wheels, there at the shop being built now so should have them back soon for a few sneaky pics before I hand them over to my girlfriend for her to wrap up for Xmas (boo but oh well)

Hoping to get a nice bonus from work too, to which I can put that towards a dropped then that will be the bike pretty much how I want it!!

Right then, a little better update, no amazing pictures as its only off my phone and being on nights i dont see daylight to get good pictures plus other parts need a clean, hoping to get time to do that over xmas!

Finally got the wheels built up, really pleased with how they came!
Also spent the last few days getting my tires seated, the Botranger ones where extremely tight and took me an age to get on! Front one seated perfect first time held 40PSI with no sealant just air tight lovely!

Got the back one on tried to pump it up and it would go from a hole from when i get a flat ages ago!! So i thought get the sealant into it and should be fine, but just wouldnt seal it, so a trip to lbs and came back with a Continental TrailKing 2.2 for £30, got it pumped up that night with a tube in to take its shape, its a looser fit that the Bontranger so when i took the tube about after 24hours i had to resort to some weird and wonderful ways to get the bead seated again from taking the tube out! Non the less i got there in the end after alot of cursing and throwing things around!

Now both tyres are mounted fully with the sealant in! some ver tiny bubbles coming from the conti near the bead, but nothing much so should seal itself in time! :)

So i shall update this last part with a few pictures (by a few i mean 2). Enjoy! 8)

    IMAG0007.jpg

    IMAG0009.jpg

Thats all for now! Better pictures at a later date when ive had chance to clean it fully! 8)

That's the plan anyway weather that will happen I dont know!!

Hi mate. Just go on the website I think they where £15 but I hI'd to buy custom credits it something like that then in the box when you order tytype what you want try and give the the exact colour or email them, that's what I did I just wrote 'stans flow ex 650 in hope purple colour match'

Then I got an email back with what they would look like.

    Hope this helps bud!
  • Thanks buddy

There customer service team got back to me about it earlier, must be something to do with copyrights...

Ordered them up, how long did they take to arrive?

Erm took about a week to get to me so wasnt too bad but at the time i didnt even have the rims so didnt matter to me too much!!

Nothing to do with copyrights i think its more to do with everyone wanting different colours so that they can match them as close as possible!!

Hope the arrive soon for you!!
