Having some creaking clicking issues with a BB. Popped the bearings out and cleaned, regreased and much better but although the noise was almost cured there is still a little bit of noise. I'm going to use some 641 and activator. Will the activator / compound still work if the bearing casing is painted rather than steel. They're rotor 4130 bearings which have a paint finish. I've used this with BB30 bearings before with good results though in those instances both surfaces were metal.
