Can you get more weight obsessed than this?

OK so I've heard some obsessive ideas about reducing weight on a bike but this one has to take the cake - spoken by a "semi pro rider" whatever that means.

He doesn't over lube his chain as that is "unnecessary weight"

Nearly fell off my bike...

Nothing new here, I've heard of people running their hubs without any grease.

I let the air out of my tyres to save weight. Its all marginal gains...

Run 8 speed instead of 11 speed, those 3 extra cogs are slowing you down!

    I ride naked

If the course if flat and not too technical I might also remove my skewers.

If its hilly then who needs a saddle?

I like riding without bar tape, the savings are astronomical and you come to enjoy the direct feedback.

When I were a lad we used to ride without handlebars either, you lot don't know you're born!

Shaving your pubes off must take at least 1/2 second off your average speed over 20 miles.

That does offer some good weight savings. Simply holding the levers for shifting and braking works well.

I ride with no front wheel, that shaves off a decent amount of weight.

Amateurs. I have my skin flayed off before each ride. I've also had all my toes removed plus all fingers barring thumb and index finger (of course, here is where I envy the Shimano or SRAM user who can have their thumbs removed as well....)

Heard a guy used Helium in his tyres too.

Always amusing to talk to the weight weenies spending fortunes on the odd 100g here or there and then upgrading to 11 speed EPS/Di groups.

As above 8 speed and helium in your tubs.

Helium in your tubs sounds great but don't do more than a 25TT. Anything longer and your tyres will go flat before your get there.

BTW, when I were a lad we drilled everything, then cut away the metal and just left the holes. Flying!

I extracted all the air from my frame as well, a vacuum is lighter than helium, problem was that the bike floated away when I left it untethered. But that was OK, as I walk now unencumbered by any weight of bike.

I am thinking about swapping my Specialized for a Trek - all those extra letter decals must add up.

I have invested a fair bit of money and time in training a hamster to ride my bike, the weight savings are astronomical. It took a fair bit of ingenuity to build his wheel onto the BB but it was worth it, I'm so much quicker up hills now and I don't even have to get up off the sofa.

Eww get that idea out of here!

Jogging is for poor people who can't afford carbon bikes.

Is there any way you could make your sofa lighter?

A good fart probably releases approx 1 milligram  (1/1,000,000 kilogram or 1/1,000 gram).
With the added bonus of a bit of directional thrust as well..!!
I'm not getting old... I'm just using lower gears......

It's not quite the same as being a semi-vegetarian, semi-pregnant or a semi-virgin. I can imagine a situation in which someone receives a bit of sponsorship but still has to work to get by.
