As title really. Just had cable change which thought would sort - did for about 5 mins but something needs tuning one way or another?

I know it's an easy fix - am just too timid to start tinkering as know I will start doing it the wrong way - and just exacerbate the problem - and end up kicking the bike and swearing at an inanimate object more than is healthy!

Thanks for any advice

Cheers

Helps if you say what the problem is? Who did the change? Get them to look at it.

If the cable has stretched add tension.

But read how to set up adjust you gears on Parktools.

But adding tension would be anti clockwise.

Thanks man, not sure what I was rabbiting on about, just wanted a quick suggestion and that's exactly what the guy who fixed it said.

Will give a go - cheers!

I appreciate the spanking! Too terrified to attempt anything on the bikes I ride, which I realise is stupid. Have a frame to build up with all spare parts.

Time to man the ***K up maybe?!!

Cables are more or less free - what can go wrong? - LOL

Cheers though - I'd much prefer to be able to cable and chain change, index and set up brakes without forking out.

    On it... one day!
