Hi all,

Looking to upgrade from my hardtail this summer to a full sus, with a max spend of £1800/1900. I usually ride trails and have narrowed my list down to 3 bikes;

Norco Fluid 7.1 650b
Giant Trance 2 650b
Lapierre X-Control 327

I have riden the giant and really liked it, but not the other two. Has anyone riden or does anyone own any of these bikes and give any comment on them? Which one would you guys recommend?

Thanks

I also rode the Trance and thought it was a great bike let down by a terrible fork.
    How about one of these?

spec of those bikes seems a bike poo TBH try and stay clear of any bike with fox evolution shock/fork on it.

have you considered canyon, Rose, cube or radon bikes?

Thanks for the comments. Yeah,.I have been told the evolution folks are a let down by someone else...stay clear of my list then lol, other than the Lapierre which comes with RS I think. I have just had a look at that Rose Granite Chief and nukeproof and they look really nice. I will be honest,.I have never Considered a Canyon, Rose,.cube, nukeproof or radon as I don't know anyone who has got or riden any. I don't what to rush into buying a bike so will investigate these ones. It's alot of money to.part with so best to get views from people who have either rode or got these bikes like.

couple of people on here have the rose granite chief, there is a cube and a fairfew nukeproofs. the caynon and rose bikes are pretty hard to beat on spec.

Yeah after reading reviews and looking at the spec they both offer, the spectral AL 7.0 and the granite chief 1/2 are defiantly my two front runners now, both look great as well. I found the link helpful as we'll. thanks

The fork is terrible and to make it worse the steerer is an odd size so you can't even sell the fork to help fund an upgrade.

The trance is off my list now, even though it rode nicely and the frame is really nice. Has anybody got any comments on the Vitus Escarpe 275VRS ?

Not all. With most bikes if you don't like the fork you can take it off, sell it and buy something else. The problem with the Trance is that the fork won't fit any other bike because Giant use a 1.25"-1.5" steerer instead of the standard 1.125"-1.5"
Take a look at the Rose Granite Chief, the advantage over Canyon is a UK distributor who has demo bikes.

the performance line are at least tunable but they are very linear in their spring rate and tend to go through there travel quickly. fine for a XC fork. Fox are very overpriced

    Only overpriced as aftermarket forks.

Looking at the Canyon spectral Al 7.0 which is classed as a all round mountain bike on their website it comes with the fox talas evolution folks, are these talas evolution folks any better than the ones which come on the trance? I know.the nerve Al 8.0 comes with the float performance folk but the bike is classed as a super tourer alpine cross bike, will.this bike be any good for me if I will be predominantly riding trails? The spectral looks like a lovely bike but as you've all.said the evolution folks on this might be a let down on this bike.as well?
