New bike with jumping chain

I have a new road bike, which has only done about 500 km, with Shimano 105 components. When I climb a hill in wet weather, the chain jumps....Is this strange? Or is it because the bike is due for its first service?? Thanks!

    Probably a stiff link in the chain, or the rear derailleur is slightly out of alignment.

    Seems likely that the gear indexing has probably gone out a bit due to the new cables stretching as they tend to do.

    It's something that you could tackle yourself if you feel confident enough. This video will talk you through the process.

    Otherwise take it back to the LBS you bought it from and get them to sort it.
