Sorry for the indoor pics.

This is my new bike having upgraded from my 2011 Trek 2.1.

I picked up the frame and groupset from Westbrook Cycles in March and then spent the last couple of months picking up components on the cheap from eBay and the internet. It was built up by Woodrup Cycles in Leeds and they've done a fantastic job setting the Di2 up and performing a bike fit.

I got it back 2 weeks ago and have only managed one 58 mile ride so far due to being away, but this weekend I'll be out and about and fingers crossed doing my first ever club run. It's a whole world away from my previous bike - It accelerates quickly and then maintains that speed easily reducing the amount of effort I have to put in. I'm really pleased with the final bike, but there are a few things I'm going to change over time. The Spoon saddle will eventually go and the bottle cages will be replaced by carbon ones somewhere down the line (I'll also get a smaller saddle bag!  )

I'll also slam the stem a little more once I've got used to it.

Really nice looking frame. Not a fan of coloured tyres but that's a personal preference.
Is there no other location that battery can be located?

Thanks for the kind comments. The tyres came with the wheels off eBay and were hardly used so I thought I'd put them to good use and wear them down before changing them for something a little more 'understated'! I may look into getting the battery put into the seatpost sometime in the future, but I can live with it the way it is at the moment :)

How much did manage to get your Mavic cosmic carbones up for off ebay?

They were £620 + postage and packing. I'd been watching multiple sets for a while seeing how much they were going for, researching them and ended up getting a really good deal (I think??!!)

Yeah i might look into this because £620 sounds like a good deal to me. Anyway, enjoy your bike!

    Thats a great looking build.

Don't discard the spoon too quickly though. I bought a Scott from westbrook last year and stuck a spoon on it but decided this week to upgrade to something more racey. Got a trial Fizik arione R3 and its nowhere near as comfy as the spoon.

Really love this build and colour on the frame, nice and unusual, big saddles bag eh...kinda working against your aero bike no?

  • Can't say i'd get excited about a dull grey/ silver frame, fugly di2 and alloy rims with carbon fairings.

Apart from that, good job. And the floorboards look nice.
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

@alansd1980 - Having read a lot about a supposed unforgiving ride the Spoon seemed like a good option to start on and you're right it's incredibly comfortable. I'll see how I get on with it for a while yet. Thanks for the review as it's always good to know others have used a component and that it works.

@ Miles253 - Yeah the saddle bag was a bit of a 'lets take everything out on a ride to cover every eventually' purchase. Bought with long rides in mind - For shorter rides it'll get removed.......Promise.

@SloppSchleckonds - Each to their own I guess. As they say one man's pleasure is another man's poison. The floorboards are a pain to clean so looks can be deceiving! ;-)

I'm 6' 2" (188cm) and the bike is a great fit. I thought about going for a 56cm, but thought it might just be a little bit too small with too much seat post showing. Absolutely love the bike :D
