I've noticed on a few vintage bike photos that the cables attach to the brake calipers on the other side vs modern ones. Anyone know when the switch happened and why?

The witch in lever types happened around 1990 the newer levers were termed aero levers and that why it happened.

A swiss bike expert has looked at my photos and says the frame set is early 1960's.
I've ordered some new tubular tyres, can't wait to try it out and see if I can even get up to the top of my road on those cogsmy isetta is a 300cc bike0
