SRAM Long Cage Mech bending
Ive just bought a CX bike with SRAM Apex gears. The cassette is 11-32 with a long cage mech.
When shifting into the larger cogs at the back, the rear mech jocky wheel cage appears to bend outwards to take into account the chain angle between the rear and front cogs. Obviously this moves the lower jockey wheel out of line. I notice this whilst riding to check which gear I am in.
Is this right that the mech cage should bend outwards?

Presumably you aren't riding in the big/big combination? Although SRAM is designed to work cross chained, it isn't meant to be done for long periods and will put the derailleur at extremes. If you mean small ring and big sprocket on the cassette, then the first thing I would be looking at is the hanger to see if it is a) secure and b) not bent or twisted. If all is ok then look at the jockey cage. Have you had a fall or been leaning the bike on something that has been putting pressure on the derailleur. Careful pressure to the derailleur to line it back up is simple enough.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

Are you sure the chain is the correct length?0
