Brtyon Rider and Strava

I've just ordered a Bryton Rider 40 and was wondering how it worked with Strava

I usually set the strava app running on my iphone, which then uploads to Strava when I get home. I then see ride data on the app or on the Strava website

With the Bryton, I assume I no longer have to have the app running, but instead download a file from the Bryton and upload it to Strava, is that right? Does it then work out segment data etc based on the upload?

Is this process simple and quick?

Clarification on this appreciated, thanks!

It's pretty straightforward - you use Bryton Bridge to save the ride onto your pc and then upload the file to Strava manually. Strava could make the Bryton TCX files synchronise automatically like they do with Garmin files but Strava sells Garmin units and not Bryton ones so maybe there is a connection there!

Yep, I've got the 20 and it's a minor inconvenience as you can't simply upload the file but probably worth it for the price differential between the Bryton and its equivalent Garmin. For me the worst thing with the Bryton is the charger, the plastic lug that holds the lead in place when charging snapped the second time I used it so keeping the contacts aligned during charging is hard. It would be much easier if they used a standard mini USB fitting.

I've not broken one yet - I'm just careful! It's actually better than a standard USB fitting as the actual contact on the unit is those very robust little brass stubs. USB connections are pretty flimsy really and not well suited to the conditions on the bike.

I no longer own a Bryton. My Rider 50T stopped working and my LBS gave me a credit note. The link between Bryton Bridge and Strava is now fixed. It takes a couple of clicks to authorise the website, but it avoids you having to download and upload TCX files manually.

Ive got a Bryton 21 and it takes me less than a minute to get my data on Strava.

Plug in bike computer, transfer file to laptop then upload it to Strava.

The Bryton 40 charges via USB - so that's OK.

When you plug in the bryton, you have the option of uploading the ride data to the PC to process directly to Strava. However, they've fixed the Strava API issue, so you can now.

Go to the Bryton website and have that pull the rides direct from your device to look a the rides there.
You have the option to then push the rides from your website account straight into Strava.
