Hi all
Just cleaning out my hubs before replacing bearings and re-greasing, however I've encountered a couple of issues which I hope the following pictures will show:
So the cup on one side seems to have worn in a strange way and there is an inner groove around it, is there anything I can do about this aside from replacing the hub? I assume its due to my lack of servicing, can I get away with riding like this?
Secondly this has popped out:
But it fits back in quite snugly, again is this much of an issue?
Cheers!

Have you read the info on Sheldon browns pages about hubs and bearings? Might even be on Parktools get a Niro and run it around the bearing surface.
His does it feel?
The other bit is just a dirt shield. Make sure you refit it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Isn't that groove to make the bearings run straight? I may be wrong.0
