Hi All,

I currently have a Carrera Vengance MTB and my rear disc rotor has become bent and so I am looking to replace it with a new one. My question is:

Do I need to buy a rotor the same make as my current brake system? or can the rotor be of another make? I currently have a Tektro brake system and so should I buy another Tektro Disk rotor? Or could I go with Hope/Avid for example?

Any to match your current size. Any different and you'll need a new mount and to check it's compatible.

Just the size and method of fitting - 6 bolt or splined - need to match.

Your Tektros will be six-bolt rotors and as above providing the diameter is the same, any 6-bolt rotor will do.

You could always try straightening the rotor using pliers. No need to take it off the bike just give it a tweak where it's bent

I have a pair of lightly used Tektro 160mm rotors for sale in the classifieds.

Admin, remove if not allowed but I can't see why it isn't allowed
