Newbie Full susser building

Hi guys...

I've decided to build my 1st full susser, this is gonna be done on on a super tight budget, i.e. nearly all components to be eBay bargains.
Heres a pic of my Voodoo Zobop to which I've already fitted an XT chainset.


The bit I'm struggling with is getting myself the correct rear shock. I've been told by Joe Murry (the guy who designed the Zobop) that I need, and I quote:
"The shock u need is 190 X 50. 50mm x 6 upper hardware, 25mm x 6 lower.
Even though it came with. Rock Shox Monarch RT3 M/L tune, Fox works the better with the same tune. Harder to get though."
I think I'll stick with the RT3 as its got some real good reviews, that and I'm not sure which model Fox to go for.
anyway I'm finding the right eye to eye size on eBay, Gumtree etc...but I'm not sure what Joe means by an M/L tune???
I'm getting lost in the world of Rebound, compression tune, velocity tune... any help would be much appreciated

Tight budget eh, what's wrong with a deore?

However, low medium or high I think is what he means when he mentions m/l but at this point it's really up to you which you want, I would maybe suggest a call to one of the few well known suspensions specialists, mojo, tf tuned etc

Looking good. I've just started my own second hand/sale item full sus build. What is your full spec and what has it set you back in total if you don't mind me asking?

Also what was your biggest bargain?
