Riding with broken spoke

Started out on a quick ride today when ping a spoke went on the front wheel, so will have to be taking it to a shop tomorrow to see if they can fix it pronto.
I just cruised back the most direct way home after it happened. Question is, would you be happy riding on a broken spoke. I'm doing an xc race on Sunday and was wondering if it happened again if I would keep going or stop. Reckon I'd just keep hammering through and hope for the best.
Thoughts?

Just fit a new one, five minute job.
Your wheel will be weak where the spoke is missing. It might be ok, it might not.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Replace it and get the wheel retensioned ASAP.0

I would sort it out yourself, as rock monkey said, it's not too hard. As for riding in the race, if you've got 32 jbend ones you'll almost certainly be fine as long as you fix it soon afterwards. If you've only got 10 straight pulls, your fooked0

Cheers all, I'm going to take it to a shop, haven't really got time to try and work out how to do it myself right now.0

Is your tyre touching the upper triangle, is it perhaps a 27.5 in a 26 frame? Or is that actually how badly egg shaped it is!0 -

I apologise in advance if wrong but I don't reckon that's Coodad's bike0 -
I wish I had something as nice as that - mine are all heaps.

I've seen pics of much worse saddle alternatives. But as this isn't the Crudcatcher I'd better not post them0
