Hi, was about to change the bearings in my Richey pro pressfit headset as they are grinding but the top bearing is completely stuck in the cup! The bottom one virtually fell out but I just can't shift the top one at all! I tried putting a flat screwdriver underneath to try and leaver it out (carefully!) but that only popped the inner casing off the bearing exposing the bearings inside. Any ideas how to get it out?

Can you not get at it from underneath, through the head tube? Then try tapping it upwards?

Tools required: small to medium flat screwdriver, piece of copper pipe or something longer than the headtube and a hammer.
Insert the the screwdriver under the remains of the bearing, push the copper pipe up to the screwdriver from the the bottom of the headtube and tap the other end with the hammer. You need three hands so get someone to tap with the hammer whilst you hold the frame the pipe and the screwdriver. Best done sitting down with the frame on your lap. Wrap tape round the screwdriver where the shaft touches the frame/cup. Its normally the bottom bearing that does this, but it should work. Make sure the screwdriver is touching the bearing and not the frame before you start banging.
