I've had a clicking / cracking noise coming from what seemed to be my bottom bracket area for some Time. It d Mrs and goes and there is no pattern to it. I've recently changed the full groupset including crankset and bottom bracket. Bearings have been replaced on both wheels, headset replaced also. After a few weeks of silent smooth riding the noise has returned. It seems to come from the right side crank as it only makes a noise under load on the right crank arm. Any ideasas I'm at a loss now and it's really loud and doing my head in.

Have you checked your pedals or cleats (assuming spd)?

    Also check chainring bolts.

Is it a BB30 crank? If so remove crank, clean everything off, regrease and reassemble. I get this quite often and that usually fixes it, not sure if some extra preload shims would help stop things getting in there, but it seems to happen more if I've been riding and get caught out by bad weather so I presume it must have picked up some crud from the road.

Check your bottle cages, if you're running a metal frame and metal cages. I had a similar clicking and it was the cages rubbing against the frame as it flexed. I took the cages off, no more clicking!

Also check pedals. I had the same and swapped pedals over the weekend and the noise is now gone

It's an ultrgra bottom bracket, the standard not bb30. Which has been replaced. Replaced pedals too. Think the chainring bolts might need looking at, but it's a completely new crankset so for that to go after a few hundred miles and for the noise to be exactly the same as before it was replaced is baffling me. It's not the saddle/seatpost either as it makes the same noise when out of saddle.

Don't think so as I've swapped wheels and noise still there.

    Might want to check these:
    1. Seat post - Remove, clean and re-assemble with carbon assembly paste
    2. Handlebar/Stem - Do as above (You can use carbon assembly past for anything, not just carbon seat posts)
    3. Check and tighten chain ring bolts. Use locktite if you feel the need
4, Remove pedals, clean and grease the threads and re-assemble
    5. Remove saddle from top of seat post, clean and re-assemble with a bit of carbon paste also
    6. Remove your bottle cages, ride without them and see if it stops the noise
    7. And the oldest one of all, as you says it's the right crank, do have a look to make sure the crank isn't hitting the cable end from the front mech. - We've all been daft enough to let this happen at some point.
2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium
2020 Merida Reacto Disc Ltd - black on black
    2015 CAAD8 105 - very green - stripped to turbo bike
    2018 Planet X Exocet 2 - grey

    The departed:

    2017 Cervelo R3 DI2 - sold
    Boardman CX Team - sold
    Cannondale Synapse - broken
    Cube Streamer - stolen
    Boardman Road Comp - stolen

Good list - although I'd start with 7 then move to 2

I had a load of clicking that I thought was from the bottom bracket - turned out that I hadn't tightened the stem bolts on the bars enough ...

Seat post / saddle clamp should be the first thing you check.
It does not matter if you are seated or standing the post still creaks as the frame flexes.
