Hi all,
does anyone know if Shimano do a 103mm sqr taper BB? I suspect the answer is no. So the follow up for question is, would a UN55 107mm work on a 2x10 speed set-up? I'm guessing the chain line would be 2mm offset (107-103/2). There's no issue in adjusting the FD to compensate, it's just whether the chain line would cause issues with RD changes . I never cross-over on my gears, if that helps.
I'm keen to get a shimano UN55 BB as the bike is used primarily for commuting and gets the worst of the weather. Consequently i'm on my 3rd BB (FSA) after 10500km. I've been running a UN54 on my mountain bike for 4-5 years now with no issues.

I got a token bb after two fsa bb 's gave up. Very good bearings and I believe the cartridges can be swapped out when they do eventually give up. It's a 103mm with carbon body from planet x0

Tange Seiki LN 7922 in a hollow axle BB 240g in 103mm length
Tange Seiki LN 3922 is solid axle axle BB 300g in 103mm lengh
That is what I would use. Token BB's are not bad either.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -
Shimano used to do a 103mm square taper, but the only chainset that used it was the 8 speed Dura Ace (the really pretty one). 105 and Ultegra of the same period used 107mm. You see the occasional 103 on Ebay but they're pretty rare now.0

PX were doing FSA 103mm for £9.99, sold out now but you could ask if more coming0

As OP stated FSA ones wear out too quick.
The Stronglight JP400 in 103mm is 9.99 or the Token in 103mm is 19.99.
I have the token in 1033mm and I haven't had a squeak from it and so far lasted longer than both the FSA bb's put together.0
