I've been offered a Pike 426 at a very reasonable price but they are missing the 20mm maxle, just had a quick look and is £35 for a genuine RS part my only option?

You're not wrong either!!!! Not buying the fork mentioned now anyway as the guy doesn't know which model it is he has despite telling me it was a 426, says they need a full service and upped the price by £20 :?

It should have the model number marked on top of the arch.
I used to have the 451 (dual air u turn) and its a great fork but old and heavy now.

Finally saw some pictures and they are well worn! Decent enough stanchions but I think they have had a couple tins of spray paint on them as they look aweful and no longer have the 3 digit model number across the crown. Apparently they are slow and sludgy through the travel and have a slight knocking noise when pushed hard and they don't come with the maxle, I reckon I could probably get them for £30 as part of a deal along with some other bits but I don't have unlimited resources to sort them so will probably give them a miss

Reckon I can get the forks, pair of halo sas rims on hope hubs and the NS frame for £110, worth a punt?

The compression adjuster is missing and thats £30. A service is £90 plus parts to sort the knocking noise (something's not right) plus £35 for a maxle.
If you get them free they could still easily cost £200.

I'd missed out the compression adjuster so was up to around £150, think that's a no then. Just spoke to the guy and I'm going to get the frame, wheels and an Avid juicy 7 (for my hack bike) for £80 which is none to shabby :)
