clicky noice

hello,
iv been wondering what makes the clicky noise on a bike when you stop pedaling at speed? is it the cassette?
iv heard that the better quality the thing is the better/ nosier the click gets.
(sorry for being a noob)

The freehub, and it has nothing to do with quality. They all click a bit - the pawls, some are just noisier than others.

it's the pawls in the freehub body.

Louder isn't necessarily better although the loudest hub I've ever heard did cost over a grand...

so i just Googled a freehub , so it basically connects the cassette to the hub? and whats the difference between freewheel and freehub?? (again sorry for being such a noob haha)
