Just read the review on this site (originally published in MBUK)

They obviously love it, giving it a five star rating.

I think it looks fabulous. While it's much more bike than I need, I am quite desirous of one!

As far as I recall it wasn't included in the WMB TBOTY, perhaps cos they couldn't get one. Or maybe it didn't meet some of the criteria - I can't remember

But would it have beaten the Mondraker? From the MBUK review it certainly rides well and the spec shoots all over the Mondy for a relatively modest increase in price

Maybe just too much to fit into a trail bike shootout. It does seem to be getting unanimously positive reviews though, and most say that it's a genuine all-rounder despite the 170mm travel.

A bike with 170mm suspension is not a trail bike.

So does everyone. Can't for the life of me think why. Looks needlessly over designed to me, almost childish in its attempt to look cool. No doubt an amazing bike, though.
All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

It's starting to seem like styling is the main design feature on new bikes. Personally I couldn't give a rats ass what my bike looks like as long as it rides how I want it to.

Rave reviews for sure but have you seen the waiting list?!

While I tend to agree that how a bike ride is incredibly important, when dropping serious coin on a bike I think it should look the part as well. The Capra certainly looks great IMO and the reviews suggest it rides incredibly well. I'd certainly be interested in one if I wasn't moving back to the flat as midlands.

Too much travel to go in the trail bike category (as chosen by WMB) but all the reviews suggest even though it has a bit extra travel it can pedal just as well

A mate has just got his YT Tues LTD he ordered last November! Six months wait is ridiculous and he isn't convinced it was worth the wait!

That's a different bike...I know you don't like YT 's in any event.

Yes, I wasn't saying there's anything wrong with the Capra. Personally I don't like the German style linear suspension, plenty other people do.

The Capra Pro scored 10/10 in the may issue of MBR. They called it the new bench mark enduro bike with the best suspension Deville TRC 170mm/ Bos kirk shock.

I didn't say it wasn't good. Different things work for different people.
I wouldn't want the BOS suspension though unless they sort out their UK service.

170mm is certainly a lot. However, the two reviews I've seen seem to be almost treating it like one. I gues if it rides like a trail bike...... Then it is a trail bike.

As for the looks, agree its not important. But if I was paying that sort of money I'd rather something handsome or striking to something fugly.

If I was looking for one (I'm not, way too much bike for me) I'd probably go one down the range.nsave a bit of money and the Pike fork is hardly a step down from the BOS which a few have previously mentioned may have service issues. The colour - black and green is cooler too (close your ears Rockmonkey!)

Looks f.ing sweet to me. Blew the Kona Process, Lap Spicy and Norco Range out of the water in Dirt's Enduro Bike Test.

And yeah - not included in the trail bike of the year because it ain't a trail bike.

...and 6 months wait is insane.

My concern with buying a Capra would be none of the above. If you can afford Bos your likely to have several bikes and returning the suspension to France for work is of no particular importance. Or you could slum it and buy the poverty spec. Pike equipped version. Waiting lists ? My friend in Germany got the bike 2 weeks after ordering. Now may be a different story though.
My concern would be a brand new frame design in carbon. Plenty of potential for little errors to creep during manufacture, that may have big consequences down the line. For example, the BikeRadar factory visit video to Giant shows hundreds of different parts going together for a carbon road frame !

Just goes to show what sort of difference cutting a distributor & retailer out of the chain makes. Not my cup of tea with the spec, but I can see why it appeals.

The only problem with this sort of business model is when it goes wrong. There are plenty of stories regarding warranty issues that take forever to resolve, or people just give up trying.

Shame they only designed it for midgets though. Could have made a decent sized L if they wern't going to bother with an XL. Also the colours look like they have been done by a child with ADHD a pack of bright coloured crayons & too much Red Bull.

Just read the test. It absolutely kills the other bikes in the test, just rides straight over the top of 'em.

Short top tube and limited sizes could make getting a good fit a pain in the bottom.

if your at all lanky or a slightly wierd shape test riding is key i think to something like this.

Poor forecasting. Someone at head office needs to be a little more optimistic.
