Hi all.
just battered my Giro Xen which i've had for 5years today so looking for a new helmet/advice.
been looking round at reviews and had a quick look in my local shop. Online I have seen the Troy Lee A1 for £70 (in yellow. the others are £90) and 661 Recon for £55 - both on chain reaction website (my local shop doesn't supply them so unable to try them for fit) so was wondering what your thoughts are or any other suggestions? nothing over £100 really as doesn't get tons of use.
cheers.

I have the £20 on one, and the £40 looks as good with more coverage. If they fit why spend more?0

I'm about to buy a IXS Trail helmet. Great coverage and very comfortable.
Quite expensive but just what I'm after.

Cheers for your advice.
Did forget to mention that the biking i do is mainly red routes on 7staines and north lakes if that makes much of a difference to your choices??2014 Mondraker Foxy R limited edition http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=129795820 -
I wear a Met Terra, definitely the best skid lid I have used.
Lots of colour choices and pretty good coverage round the back of your head too.0 -
I have the 661 Recon and, while it is a decent helmet, I'm not sure I'd buy another. Sometime after getting the Recon I bought my girlfriend one of these...

... and now, if she's not riding with me, I'll reach for it every time in place of the Recon. Just as good, half the price, more comfortable and cooler. The above link is just the first that came up – look around and you'll find it cheaper than that. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

I've got a pretty big head, so struggle finding ones that fit.
However, got a nice, light Bell one a few months ago in Halfords for £20oddGiant Trance 3 '08
