Hi all,
I'm going to be on holiday down Swanage in Dorset in June, I know the purbecks quite well and intend to do this ride:

However, I'm going to be there 2 weeks so would really appreciate any other good routes people know of in South/East/North Dorset, may even consider west Dorset by train if its worth it. I know UKBikepark has now closed although I beleive that was mainly for jumps and i'm more interested in XC trails anyway.
cheers,
Andy

Hmmm places to ride in Dorset.
South Dorset; Wareham forest there is a route you can do below
http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/Eng ... CycleTrail
But you can branch out from there into kimerley woods and bere woods and little heath to the south of Bere Regis. There arent really any mapped routes I can think of for that area, but I would buy an OS and explore.
North Dorset - Moors Valley country park has a blue route which you can link into local bridle paths in the area of Ringwood0 -
I have just the page for you!

Dorset area, as mentioned above has Moors Valley, but also Avon Tyrell and the New Forest. A few other places off to the east as well.Check out my site - http://www.trail-dog.co.uk

Avon Tyrell is poor. They have one 'red' trail which is no more than a poorly maintained bog. I went there to check it out and their signing in book for mountain bikers was pretty much empty back to last spring. There is a good pump track and short DH/jump line though.
Moors Valley - Blue route, very easy but a pleasant afternoon out, virtually no elevation change. The DH/North Shore/pump track bit at the back of the park has potential but it was in a sorry state last time I went.0 -
