New outer chain ring for FC-R565

I have a 2013 defy 1 with a Shimano FC-R565 crank, which I know sits between tiagra and 105.
My outer chain ring is worn (50t) and looking for a replacement. Would a Shimano 105 50t ring fit? Are there any other chainrings I should consider (if I'm looking for hardwearing/long (ish) lasting?)
Final question - Could I change just the outer ring without removing the crank? I've changed hollotech 2 chainrings before on my moutain bike, but would prefer not to have to take the crank off if I could help it.
