Anyone ridden round it?
Is it a decent ride, may take in going to Coniston too to push the milage up.

Yep, couple of times as part of the Windermere triathlon. 44km plus ~ 750m ascent.
Best bit is Hawkshead to Newby Bridge so if adding in Coniston make sure you don't miss this bit out
Enjoy

The east side isn't a great road and is usually pretty busy. Better off doing Hawkshead to Newby Bridge to Lowick Bridge to Coniston over Hawskhead Hill (which was shut last week for resurfacing, not sure if it's open again) to Hawkshead.0

there was a thread about this very thing just recently, not sure where but a search for windemere will bring it upAll lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0

Do this pretty regularly, but would echo the thoughts about the East side, I put up with the Windermere to Ambleside stretch but after Newby Bridge take the Gummers How road (lovely climb) over to Bowland Bridge and then the A 5074 (Lythe Valley road) through Winster back to Windermere.0
