I predict that Astana will not have as successful a giro as last year.....
Oh and Iglinsky & Lutsenko are both out of the race. No passports/Visas

Day before Zoncolan, at the end of a punishing 3rd week, Evans isn't getting close to Quintana on the MTT:

That is pretty bad news for Scarponi. Borut Bozic and Janez Brajkovic are in but the later has knee issues - hopefully it will clear up in time for him to come good when Scarponi needs it.

The Brajkovic-for-Iglinsky change to the starter list was made well before the public announcement of no visas, the other change concurrent with or following the announcement. :?

Can anyone remember what happened in the second ITT of the 2013 Tour? Stage 17.

There were two category 2 climbs and Rodriguez beat Quintana by over 1 minute.

I seem to remember there was some drizzle and the corners were pretty treacherous. Did Quintana come off at some point or was J Rod simply 1 minute better?

Quintana was 6th, and Purito was riding out of his skin in the final week.

    Stage 17, 2013 Tour - Inner Ring

A narrow win for Chris Froome . We knew he was the best climber and the best TT rider but combine the two and Alberto Contador was within nine seconds. We saw Joaquim Rodriguez, Roman Kreuziger and Alejandro Valverde all within 30 seconds. Froome swapped bikes to take a TT machine for the descent, complete with a bigger chainring. Did this give him the advantage to beat Contador?

The 2014 Quintana looks a more competent TT rider. At Tirreno (9k TT) he smoked Contador for 3s, was <30s behind Wiggins and only 38s behind winning teammate Malori. He's at the wrong race :(

I don't think the Giro will return to the UK any time soon.
Godoy and Rodriguez also a visa issue for Androni.
Trusov is confirmed unable to travel, for Tinkoff.
McCarthy or Rogers, if you prefer, replaces him.

That really is a farce. Makes us look backward.

Unless there is some colossal screw-up on the part of teams or RCS, this is a travesty, made in UKIP.

Every other sports team coming to the UK seems to manage OK.

At least we cant point the blame at the Colombian team management.

My experience in dealing with people like the HMRC is that your sucess really depends on who is dealing with your request.

Precisely. The problem here is that this issue wasn't fast-tracked and handled as a high level priority. Abysmal.

Aaaaand we have the next, unlucky visa lottery loser.
    Edward Beltran of Tinkoff out.
    Rogers confirmed in as replacement.
    Already in NI.

It is a bot odd that it's all Colombians from different teams; you can imagine one team being a bit sloppy, but not so many of them...
