During my ride this morning I got a friendly lorry horn blast from a Team Astana tour lorry making its way from Newhaven to Beddingham, there were 2 lorries and 3 team cars following, any ideas where they are heading and why? (must say it did urge me on to keep up with the virtual partner on my Garmin lol)

On it's way to the Giro or the Women's Tour of Britain I would have thought.

Your description shows the convoy traveling due north (as normal from Newhaven) and as Rich says probably on it's way to the Giro start in a couple of days.
Their Sat/Nav will probably take them around London and Birmingham to Holyhead for a Dublin crossing and I think the convoy size is to big for a Ladies race but enough for the Pro Team's couple of days in Ulster/Ireland.
There will be other transport waiting for them in Italy next Monday.

A couple of years ago I stayed at the same Liege hotel as Astana and they only used one truck and two cars (possibly a third car) for that race.

So dim, didnt think about the Giro at the end of the week DOH!, must be where they were heading. Was nice to get a toot from one of the lorry drivers though, it made my day :)

These lorries can be a menace though. How do you know it was a friendly toot?

Saw two OPQS cars on the M56 today, heading towards Manchester airport. They were either flying out to the Giro, or meeting Cav off the plane from Turkey
