I am on the look out for a long travel HT frame for a new build. First choice so far is the on-one 456 evo2
I am open to suggestions and first hand experience, good/bad is considered bonus
Ti frames are out of question, too expensive, funds are limited
overpriced carbon ones as well...

Steel 456 is heavy and harsh but carbon 456 is good and cheap.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Dartmoor Hornet
Cotic BFe
They would be on my shortlist0 -

BFe 8)0

Snapped a steel 456 and a c456...
BFe would be my vote, it's a lovely ride.0 -
I'd probably go for a carbon 456 due to weight. Cotics are nice though - I like the Soul. Commencal have interesting looking frames too - you can buy direct from them I think.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Carbon 456 Evo is £399 or carbon456 second hand for approx.£250. Is it Bird that someone on here is linked to? They look great frames.
Cotic Soul or Bfe
Privee Shan
Ragley piglet

 god !!! you're right
All ready deside, going for the dartmoor hornet, is a tad cheaper and the 135x12mm through axle at the back cannot be ignored,
RS sektors 150mm tk solo air @299 will take care the damping up front
and a pair of mavic crossride 27.5 wheels @ 235 will roll it through the trails
The rest will be nicked from my current bike.... I told you the budget is limited.....
Whats your thoughts?0 -

140mm Sektors here for £270 if that's any help.

I'd probably go with the Dartmoor too.0 -
Sorry,my bad, prices in my list are euros, so 299 euros are cheaper than 270 sterling pounds

Don't bother with TK Sektors - get the RL version. Better still, get a Revelation.0
-
Truth is, revelation was my top choice, but price is way above of what I can afford at the moment, a second hand maybe? but... don't know there is some risk involved0

Revs can be had for about £280 from merlin right now.0
