Will a campag 11 speed cassette be compatible with a 10 speed everything else?

    I doubt it as the cog spacing is different.

    You'll need 11 speed shifters and 11sp chain for certain.

    Your front mech and chainset should be fine, and popular rumour is that your rear mech will be fine too.

    What about the other way round.

    10sp cassette with a 11sp rear mech?

    Should be - I'd be surprised if there is any meaningful difference between a Veloce 10 sp rear mech and an Athena 11 speed version.

    the linkages are different lengths so they don't work perfectly.
    basically I've tried a 10 speed mech with 11 everything else and it worked ok but not perfectly as the spacing and cage movement wasn't right. Just get it all and have piece of mind.
