HI,
Just wondered what are the thoughts on the Rockrider 520? Seems to be a replacement for the 5.3 but is it worth considering for an overweight 40 year old who hasn't bought a bike for over 20 years! How does it compare to the Calibre two two spec wise? I'll be hopefully riding Swinley forsest and The Surrey hills area but nothing too crazy.

I'd go for the Calibre. I had a look at one a few weeks back and it's a really nice bit of kit for the cash.

Thanks for the reply. I kind of thought the same. I'm looking to try and spend less than £500 to please the Mrs (although I'm happy to go higher on the quiet!) and it's a bit of a minefield! I like the idea of a 29er but I'm only 5'7" and I sat on one in Halfords and it felt odd.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

Have you looked at the voodoo bikes in halfords or maybe a 2nd hand bike on pink bike.

I went in to Go Outdoors and picked up the Calibre .50 for £500. It's alot of bike for the money and I'm loving it!
