Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a cervelo r3 frame nos 2010 to replace my supersix as my bad weather trainer. It's the r3 with an English bb. I've heard some shockers about the bb decoupling from the frame on a few forums. I'm i kidding myself that this is a good swap or is it a few isolated cases that can happen with any carbon frame? It will be nos so a full warrenty will be provided.

Cheers
Ross

If it's a bed weather trainer don't you want something with mudguard eyes? Seems a funny choice :?

I agree with Foggymike. If you want a bad weather bike then get a Genesis Equilibrium or a Ribble Winter Trainer. The Cervelo R3 is one of the finest road bikes ever made, don't waste it with crap weather duty; it's akin to using an Arabian Stallion to haul a coal cart FFS :)

FTFY - do your research
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Because problems affecting a small number of frames automatically means that every R3 frame made at that time is worthless. Oh wait, you seem to have your head up your bottom.

I sold my R3 as preferred riding my Ribble winter trainer. I kid you not.

  • What made you prefer the ribble nap? I ride a lot of hills and love my s2 so was thinking the r3 would be a good choice

It was dull as ditchwater. Didn't like the handling. I ended up racing on my ribble this year. I had an S2 that I never should have sold.

I love my RWT as well, but not more than my Cervelo RS

The Ribbles are very, very good for the money though.
